The AONTAS Adult Learners’ Festival 2011 took place nationally from 21st – 25th  February 2011. This was the fifth annual festival and LIT Access and Development Office collaboratively highlighted this celebration of adult learning in LIT.

To complement the festival theme Learning Communities’, LIT invited  prospective adult learners from Limerick Central College, Limerick College of Further Education, Kilmallock College of Further Education and Co. Clare VEC  into LIT for a coffee morning where they met staff and current mature students including GIVE volunteers from across the campus.  These prospective students had an opportunity to meet LIT students currently studying on academic programmes in which they were interested.  LIT students answered their questions and reflected with them on their own academic experiences. The GIVE volunteers then facilitated a guided tour of the campus.
