Humanities students visit London

Hotelympia 2012, the leading UK hotel industry exhibition was the focus of a trip to London by students from first year Higher Certificate in Arts in Hospitality Studies students, Hotel Front Office students and 2nd year students of the Higher Certificate in Arts in Culinary Arts.

The students got to sample a range of new technologies, equipment, observe the competitions, hear industry experts, attend student-focused career seminars and a chance to engage with employers. As part of the trip, the students also visited some of London's leading attractions, London Eye, London Dungeons & Madame Tussauds, as well as a West End show.

A highlight of the trip was a meal experience at top London restaurants - the Savoy & Roux at Landeau where the students got to observe the level of service and food quality that these establishments produce. A warm welcome was also received at Saddlers Restaurant Mayfair, a sister restaurant of Hamptons Limerick.
