Clonmel, situated on the River Suir is a busy, commercial town and the administrative capital of South Tipperary. It is home to a number of major pharmaceutical companies including Guidant, Clonmel Healthcare and Merck, Sharpe and Dohme. The world famous Coolmore Stud is situated close-by. While Clonmel has a limited train service it is well-serviced by Bus Éireann on a daily basis. Several private operators also provide services to and from Clonmel.
