A Professional student counselling service is provided by psychologists, counsellors, and psychotherapists under the direction of Noreen Keane. This service is free to all registered students.
The overall aim of the service is to support students learning and development while in college. Student counsellors offer a listening ear, space and non-judgemental understanding.
Student Counselling also facilitate groups and workshops on stress, personal development, bereavement, mindfulness etc.

To register for counselling please contact 293106. All students are required to complete some preliminary intake forms prior to commencing counselling. We provide a professional confidential counselling service here in LIT staffed by trained counsellors, psychologists and psychotherapists. The overall aim of the service is to support your learning and development while in college. A counsellor will offer you space, a listening ear and non-judgemental understanding.
Whether you have experienced a personal crisis, are finding it difficult to cope with college life, want to explore your options or learn more about yourself, counselling is available to you. We in the counselling service realise that while college life is exciting for many it may also be quite daunting for others. No issue is too big or too small.
The counsellors also facilitate groups and seminars on stress, assertiveness, personal development, depression, bereavement, abuse, young parent support etc.
If you feel the need to talk give our Student Services Co-ordinator a call to arrange an appointment or alternatively drop in to the counselling service (the code to the keypad to Health Centre is 5789). If in need of an emergency appointment you will be seen as soon as possible.

The aim of MMM is to develop secure access for Irish third-level students across third level institutions to online credible mental health and wellbeing information and various online support services.

Please Talk is supported by the HSE through the National Office of Suicide Prevention, and is part of the National Mental Health Strategy.
Reach Out - ReachOut.com is a service dedicated to taking the mystery out of mental health. We aim to provide quality assured mental health information and inspiring real life stories by young people to help other young people get through tough times. ReachOut.com also provides information about other services that can help people deal with mental health problems.
Get on Board - Get on Board for Youth Mental Health is a call to action to get the issue of youth mental health on the political agenda - to get young people asking for it, to get voters voting for it, and to get candidates committing to it.
