What is the programme about? This programme provides a broad base of core modules applicable to the design and/ or construction of civil engineering projects, bearing in mind the environmental aspects involved. The programme enables a thorough understanding of the scientific, technological and economic principles of Civil & Environmental Engineering, with particular reference to environmental issues, site practice, design office practice, quality, safety and value for money. Class Contact Hours Year 1 Construction Technology & Environmental Services, Land Surveying, Mathematics & IT, Engineering Mechanics & Graphics, Communications, Research & Legal Studies, Materials. Year 2 Civil Engineering Construction & Public Health, Civil Engineering Surveying, Mathematics & Computer Engineering Applications, Structural Engineering Design & Detailing, Soils & Concrete, Plus 1 Elective. Entry Requirement Applicants must satisfy a minimum stage1 entry requirement of Grade OD3 or higher in Mathematics, Irish or English and three other subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination.
