What is the programme about? This programme of study is designed to equip students with a solid grounding in business and in particular, Marketing and
Management.
The programme ensures that students will be able to demonstrate the practical skills, knowledge and competence required at junior
executive level. There are approximately 24 hours of timetabled activities per week which include lectures and tutorials as well as a
range of practical learning experiences, such as, business case studies, industry project work and computer practicals; plus mid and
end of year examinations. Who is the programme suited to? This programme is suitable for people who have an interest in careers as Marketing Assistant, Digital Marketing Administration, PR Assistant, Sales Executive, Account Manager. Top 3 Reasons 1. This programme was reviewed in 2015 in line with the National Employment Strategy, and aims to equip graduates with the essential skills and knowledge required to find employment in business, or indeed start their own business. The programme includes options, subject to demand, in languages, enterprise development, social, mobile & digital marketing, work psychology, personal and professional development, world culture, global business and more. 2. Some exemptions are available from the examinations of the following professional bodies: - The Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII);
- The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM);
- The Institute of International Trade of Ireland (IITI);
- The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
3. Get Your Degree Your Way. The ladder-style of this programme gives you the opportunity to study Marketing & Management at your own pace – do the first two years and receive a Higher Certificate, add one more for a Degree, and another for an Honours Degree.

Electives will be offered subject to demand, minimum numbers and resource availability. Year 2 eBusiness for Marketing, Social & Mobile Marketing, Legal Fundamentals for Business, Corporate Law, Personal Selling, Sales
Management, Management Accounting, Human Resource Management, plus electives from Language and Culture, Innovating
Products and Brands, Personal Development, New Venture Creation, Professional Development & Employability Skills.

Entry Requirement
A minimum of 5 O6/H7 grades in Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English or Irish. FETAC Applicants and Mature Applicants: Refer to section ‘Entry Requirements’ for further information.
