New Student Section of HEA website

A new student area of the Higher Education Authority website is now live! The new information section is designed particularly with potential students in mind and their families who need clear, introductory information on higher education. There are six parts to the student area in all, including sections on 'Opportunities in Higher Education', What to Study and Where to Go', Applying for a Course' and 'Student Life'. Comprehensive links between the new student area and a range of other websites providing more detailed information on particular topics is a key feature.

The Central Applications Office (CAO)

If you are thinking about taking up a full-time course of study in college, it will be through the CAO that you will apply. The CAO website provides everything you need to know about the applications process. Did you know that you can now apply through the CAO online?

The closing date for applications for entry in 2010 is 1 February 2010.

QualifaX

QualifaX is the Irish national database of all further and higher education courses. QualifaX is the ‘one stop shop’ for information on courses. Included are links to college and other education / training websites in Ireland and abroad. Detailed information on an extensive selection of careers is supplied plus a range of other useful information for students and prospective students of all ages.

Itsyourmoney.ie - Information for students

Itsyourmoney.ie, an initiative of the National Consumer Agency, has a new section specially for students. It includes impartial, non-commercial information on making a budget, how to manage bills and some tips to reduce everyday costs. It also features a podcast on the topic of student finances.
