Undergraduate Programmes – Tuition Fees

Applicants to full-time Undergraduate programmes (Levels 6, 7 and 8) who are EU nationals and who meet the residency requirement (i.e., resident in an EU member state for at least three of the five years preceding their entry to third level) will generally qualify for free fees from the Department of Education & Science subject to the conditions outlined in the Free Fees Initiative.  Under this initiative the State pays tuition fees for full-time, non-repeat undergraduate students (from Ireland and the EU).  Please refer to Table 1 below for details.

Student Contribution Fee

All students must pay an annual Student Contribution Fee unless they qualify for Grant Aid (refer to www.susi.ie).  The Student Contribution Fee for the 2017/18 is €3,000.

Class Material / Health & Safety Fee

Art & Design, Science, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies students are liable for an additional class materials/ Health & Safety fee each academic year.  Please refer to Table 2 below for details.

Repeat & ACCS Students

Repeat Students and those studying through the ACCS mode are liable for full Tuition and Student Contribution Fees on a pro-rata credit basis (Full Class Materials Fee charged in addition if appropriate). Please note, that pro-rata fees are rounded up by our Banner Student System. Please see table three below for approximate figures.

Fáilte Ireland Programmes

Fáilte Ireland pay the Student Contribution Fees for students who are registered on years one and two of the following programmes: -

  • Higher Certificate in Arts in Culinary Arts
  • Higher Certificate in Arts in Hospitality Studies
  • Higher Certificate in Business in Hotel Front Office Management
  • National Traineeship in Professional Cookery

Please note, that students on the above programmes are liable for class materials fees, as they are NOT covered by Fáilte Ireland.  Students will be expected to pay the required amount during the first week of attendance. All equipment, uniforms, etc., paid for by the student, remain the property of the student.

IMPORTANT: Fáilte Ireland DO NOT pay fees for students who are registered on the Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts (Level 7) programme.

Continuation Fee

Where a Postgraduate Research student fails to complete their programme in the prescribed time a continuation fee will apply of €1,000 in subsequent years.
