The 4th annual maths and statistic service teaching conference will take place in Limerick Institute of Technology on Monday May 25th and Tuesday May 26th 2009.

 

We are delighted that Dr Lisa Bullard from the North Carolina State University will be the keynote speaker.

 

This conference is supported by the National Digital Learning Repository (NDLR), Strategic Initiative Funding (SIF) and the Institute of Engineers, Ireland (IEI). The aims of the conference include:

  • Enabling colleagues to share their experiences, successes and failures in dealing with the myriad of difficulties faced by all who teach mathematics to students with varied mathematical backgrounds.
  • Presenting new initiatives in teaching and learning.
  • Giving updates on new developments in the various sectors.

 

To this end the conference will comprise of talks, presentations, workshops, discussion groups on a broad range of topics including

  • Teaching and learning materials
  • Technology
  • Multifaceted learning
  • Assessment
  • Research

 

The registration fee for the conference is €30. 

The conference dinner on Monday the 25th is in Durty Nellies in Bunratty which is less than 15 minutes drive from LIT. A courtesy bus will be available to bring delegate to and from the dinner: bus route and times will be announced at the conference.
