Mayor of Limerick Welcomes EU CATALYST Project Representatives to the City

Councillor James Collins, Mayor of the City and County of Limerick welcomed CATALYST project representatives to Limerick city at the meeting of the CATALYST Project Management Board held in Limerick 19th-21st November 2018.


The EU ERASMUS + CATALYST project is focused on providing hands-on practical skills to promote university vocational teaching and training in Vietnam and Laos. The main aims of the project being the design, delivery and coordination of a Core Curricula on vocational teaching methodology to be taught at Vietnamese and Laotian universities incorporating Library and Information Literacy skills modules.


The project has six University partners from some of the largest universities in Vietnam from cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hung Yen and Vinh city. The project also has two university partners from Vientiane, the capital of Laos.


Also participating in the CATALYST Project Management Board Meeting were representatives from EU partners- Dresden University of Technology, Dresden, Germany, Edge Hill University, Ormskirk, United Kingdom and also Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania (who lead the project).


Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) are represented in the CATALYST project by LIT Library who are one of the EU partners in the project and who have been highly active in the area of EU funded programmes over the past number of years.


The CATALYST project is funded under the EU ERASMUS + Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education (CBHE) funding programme.
