Open Day in LIT Clare – Ennis Learning Centre, Tuesday April 24th 2012
Limerick Institute of Technology is delighted to announce that it currently offers a Business Computing third level Higher Certificate (Level 6) programme in Ennis. The course is suitable for school leavers, mature students or those wishing to go back to education.
Information Technology is one of the fastest growing professions and our Business Computing course provides students with the business knowledge and IT technical background, through a hands-on approach that provides a real grasp of technology, development tools and paradigms in demand by industry.
You are invited to come along to our Open Day on April 24th from 14:00-17:00 to meet with our lecturers, staff and current students. We are located on the first floor of the Clare County Museum Building, Arthur's Row, Ennis, Co. Clare, opposite the Temple Gate Hotel and in the same building as the Ennis Tourist Office. About the Higher Certificate in Business Computing programme delivered in LIT Clare (Ennis Learning Centre)
COMMENCING SEPTEMBER 2012 the Department of Information Technology at LIT continues to offer a Higher Certificate in Business in Business Computing, delivered at the LIT Clare Campus (Ennis). The programme offers graduates a wide variety of career options in accounts administration, business analysis, software development, data administration and others. LIT also provides progression opportunities for graduates to pursue an Ordinary Degree (level 7) and Honours Degree (level 8) in Business Computing.
PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
The scale of the IT sector in Ireland, and the current expansion of roles associated within the sector, have led to a healthy demand for talented Business Computing graduates. The aim of the Higher Certificate programme is to provide students with an academically challenging educational experience that will enable them to develop the programming skills to implement business projects, and expand their business and technical knowledge in the following areas: accountancy, economics, marketing, law, programming, database technology, statistics and management.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy a minimum stage 1 entry requirement of Grade OD3 or higher in Mathematics, Irish or English and three other subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination. In practice, entry levels will be above the minimum and points will be calculated from the six best subjects from one sitting.
