
LIT to hold CAO information events for students in January
In advance of the February 1st CAO closing date, Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) will host a number of information events across its campuses in Limerick, Thurles and Clonmel to provide students and parents with useful information on LIT, its courses and services.

Leaving Certificate students, FETAC students, mature applicants and parents are invited to attend where information will be available on the extensive range of full-time courses available across LIT’s campuses in Limerick, Tipperary and Clare. Staff will also be on hand to answer any queries people may have when completing the CAO application process.
In addition, a Study Skills seminar will take place at each of the information evenings, designed to provide students with useful tips for exam preparation, incorporating topics such as note-taking, memory, concentration, motivation, goal-setting, structuring learning and revision. PORFOLIO OPEN DAY AT LSAD – Wednesday 16th January 2013
LIT, which was awarded the prestigious ‘Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the Year’ award earlier this year will also host a Portfolio Open Day at the Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD), Clare Street campus on Wednesday 16th January from 10am - 4pm. This event will be of particular benefit to anyone wishing to apply to the School of Art and Design. There will be demonstrations and advice on how to prepare and present an application portfolio, sample portfolios from some of last year’s successful applicants and an exhibition of current Year One student work. LSAD’s Fashion department was recently named among the top 50 Fashion departments worldwide and was the only Irish college listed.
EXPLORE DAY AT LIT THURLES – Saturday 19th January 2013
Meanwhile, LIT’s Thurles campus will host an Explore Day on Saturday 19th January from 10am-2pm. The purpose of this day is to give students an opportunity to explore what a day in the life of a Computing or Environmental Science student would be like at a third level college. The event, which is workshop based will cover topics such as Games Design and Development, Smart Energy Systems, Environmental Science and Energy and Waste Management.
