Entries now open for this year’s SciFest in LIT which will take place on May 2nd 2012. Closing date for entries is March 2nd 2012.

The 2012 BT Young Scientists Exhibition featured some 550 projects. LIT science lecturers once again took on an advisory/mentoring role for some of the local young scientists.

Students from Presentation College Thurles, who were overall winners at LIT's Scifest event last April, receive medals of excellence at SciFest@Intel.

CAO Points for the Department of Applied Science

Gerard Newsham, a postgraduate of LIT and orginally from Corbally in Limerick, saw his science project take flight into space on the final Space Shuttle mission on 8th of July 2011.

The Department of Applied Science may be in a position to offer three Graduate Internships to successful students in the Space Life Science Lab, Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, with a start date of the 1st October 2011, for 6 months.
