The Department of Information Technology provides a wide and diverse range of programmes including the following undergraduate programmes – Internet Systems Development, Business Computing, Software Development, Multimedia Programming and Design, Office Management Systems, and Computer Networks & Systems Management. The Department also offers two Level 9 postgraduate programmes – Graduate Diploma/MSc in Computing in Education and MSc in Computing – Security and Digital Forensics.
Our Honours Degree programmes are recognised by the Teaching Council of Ireland and provide a possible career path onto the Higher Diploma in Education programme. Exemptions may also be sought through the professional accountancy bodies for our Business Computing and Office Management Graduates. Learners on the Computer Networks & Systems Management Degree programme can study for the industry standard CISCO networking qualification while studying for their Honours Degree.
Our ambition is to continue to be at the forefront of new technological developments, to design new and innovative courses to support our local and national industry and commercial requirements. In particular, we are committed to developing and applying new and innovative active learning strategies to enhance and improve the learning experience of our student community.
