Taste

Taste for Learning

Taste is our restaurant and also our classroom.

Taste is a specially designed educational environment where students learn the art of food service and culinary practices. From menu planning, sourcing, costing, preparation, cooking and service, our students learn the whole process in an understanding and realistic working environment.

Students are timetabled to cook and serve meals under the supervision of their lecturers. The support and understanding of our guests is a very important element of this learning experience. While Taste offers a highly reputed and professional dining experience we encourage our guests to appreciate that this is an educational space. Facilitating our students by arriving promptly at the times specified is required while feedback from guests is encouraged as our students are able to learn from your comments.

The primary aim of our programmes in the Department of Food & Tourism is to enable our students to contribute to the sustainable development and future of the Irish tourism and hospitality industry.
