Business drives the economy, producing goods and services to satisfy consumer needs, creating employment opportunities and generating wealth for the benefit of the whole society. Business activities involve a number of disciplines or skills areas including management, marketing, finance and information technology. Success in business also requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and often foreign language skills. Businesses operate across the whole scope of human activity creating a vast array of industries and sectors and a diverse range of exciting and challenging career opportunities for graduates.

Tipperary Institute’s Business programmes offer candidates a broad based degree preparing graduates for the commercial realities of a career in the business world. The programmes are structured to focus students towards thinking like a business person, developing an enthusiasm for enterprise and equipping graduates with core business skills that may be applied in a wide range of industries.

"The broad nature of the Business Studies degree programme opened many different opportunities for me. Like some graduates before me, I chose to pursue a career in Teaching. Since completing my Graduate Diploma in Education, I have been teaching Junior & Senior Cycle Business classes in addition to information technology and business subjects to post Leaving Certificate students. The course content of the BBS at LIT Tipperary has undoubtedly given me excellent grounding for the material that I now teach."

Patrick McCormac

"The dedication and helpfulness of the staff was evident throughout my course. I also appreciated the small class size and the atmosphere of shared learning that this helped to create. It allowed for that extra degree of engagement with the lecturer. "
