Robert Ballagh to open exhibition at LIT Tipperary
”Education for Life” an exhibition of work by the students of North Tipperary VEC will be officially opened at LIT Tipperary, Thurles Campus on Thursday 22nd March by one of Irelands best known and most successful artists Robert Ballagh.
The exhibition which features work in a variety of media, is the brain-child of local art teacher Regina Dorney and North Tipperary VEC Chief Executive Mr. David Leahy. Regina’s idea is to show by means of work from both post leaving certificate and second level students how relevant art is throughout life, and equally how the community can become or be induced to become involved in the production of art. 'Art is the universal language, it transcends all barriers', according to Regina, who pays tributes to all involved, particularly the FETAC level 6 students from Colaiste Mhuire Co Ed who have a central role in organisation of the exhibition.
The exhibition runs at LIT Tipperary, Thurles from Thursday 22nd March to Friday 20th April 2012, during Institute opening hours. For more information in relation to the exhibition please contact jean.forbescooke@lit.ie |
