Taster Workshops in LIT-Tipperary Part-Time Personal/Professional Development Programmes

Come experience a little taste of our part-time programmes here in LIT-Tipperary. Each workshop will give you an overview of a particular course and what to expect when you begin your studies with us.  You will also meet a past graduate who will share their experience on the programme.

1. Certificate in Adlerian Psychology and Counselling Skills

This course is aimed at anyone who is interacting with people and who wishes to improve their communication/counselling skills and how they relate to people. The Adlerian approach to working with people believes in the possibility of change, and that what we need to make these changes in our lives is courage. We look at our past, in order to understand our present and move towards a more desired future.  This taster workshop will explore some of Adler’s practical psychology and applications for your life.

2. Certificate in Jungian Psychology with Art Therapy

This course mixes experiential with the theoretical in a venture that combines Jungian Psychology with Art Therapy. By using methods such as art-making, journaling and dream interpretation we engage creatively with psyche in a journey that promises to be both fascinating and educational. This introductory workshop explores the symbolic language of images in the context of life changes.

3. Certificate in Professional Coaching Skills

Coaching is a growing field and increasingly recognised by individuals and organisations throughout the world. Coaching is future orientated and aims to help people when they feel stuck and want to bring about personal change in their lives and work, to shift their perspective, reflect on their choices and realise their individual potential. This programme is for anyone who wants to gain a recognised educational and professional qualification as a coach. This taster workshop will provide you with a flavour of how this approach helps us to reach our potential.

4. Diploma in Addiction Counselling

The central aim of the Diploma in Addiction Counselling is to provide participants with a solid foundation in understanding the field of addiction including; core theories/models, counselling skills and effective treatment approaches. The programme also aims to help build solid practitioner skills and placement in a treatment centre forms a central aspect of the Diploma. It is designed for those interested in or working in the addiction field and successful completion of the programme qualifies participants as entry level Addiction Counsellors.  This interactive taster workshop will use practical change techniques to help you create the life you truly want.
