Youth Media team with Dr. Conor Galvin, Minister of State Ciaran Cannon and Dr. Maria Hinfelaar
The ninth ICT in Education Conference was hosted by LIT Tipperary on Saturday 11th of May 2013.
The ICT in Education Conference provides an opportunity for educators from all levels of education in Ireland to engage with new ideas on the integration of technology in teaching.
The student or learner voice is often silenced in educational discourse and in policy making at many levels. This conference sought to redress this imbalance.
Minister of State Ciaran Cannon addressed the conference and shared his thoughts on the potential for technology use in education. Keynote presentations were delivered by Gráinne Conole (@gconole), Professor of Learning and Innovation at Leicester University, Catherine Cronin (@catherinecronin), Lecturer at NUI Galway and Martha Rotter (@martharotter), developer, technologist and founder of tech startup Woopie

The conference involved a lively and energetic collaboration with young people who had a significant impact on the design of the event. Our Youth Media Team, pictured above, were tasked with capturing the day through interviews, photographs and blog posts. The team reported back on their experiences during the day in the conference capstone presentation.
