Under ACCS mode learners may apply for registration on individual modules regardless of prior experience or qualification, in order to access advanced training and skill upgrades. A candidate should have relevant experience in a technical role in the electrical services or industrial sector. A candidate must also meet the following minimum entry requirements.
a. Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Craft-Electrical (or equivalent trade)
with a merit; or a pass with two year's post qualification experience.
b. National or Higher Certificate in Engineering or Technology with
specialisation in Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical or Industrial
Engineering, or equivalent, at Pass level. (HETAC/FETAC Level 6
Qualification).
Learners with additional qualifications and experience may be eligible for
exemptions from some of the modules.
Each module comprises approximately 12 Weeks of Lectures/ Labs
Attendance at LIT for one evening per week for 3 hours per module
Final written exam (daytime) and continuous assessment per module
LIT Subject Certificates for successful students (only students who are
completing modules by ACCS mode)
Attendance at more than 70% of all practical elements is mandatory
Exam registration fee included
Modules run subject to adequate numbers
The award of the Degree may require the successful completion of 10 modules plus a project, some of which may not be on offer as evening programmes at this time. The core modules of the programme are as follows:
