European Globalisation Fund – DELL & Downstream Companies

The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund EGF provides personalised measures and supports for a limited period of time to eligible workers who are directly affected by redundancies caused by the adverse effects of globalisation. The measures and supports financed under the fund, aim to help redundant workers prepare for alternative employment.

The EGF exists to support workers who have lost jobs as a result of the DELL announcement in January 2009 and the companies who were in a direct contractual relationship with DELL and affected by the closure including – Banta Global Turnkey, IEC/Flextronics, Sercom, Sodexo, Cube, RPS Engineering, Rehab Logistics and Novo Strat. Eligible workers must have been in employment with the companies in question at the time of the announcement and made redundant no later than 31st January 2010.

If you think you may be eligible for this funding please contact the Lifelong Learning Office for an EGF Eligibility form at 061 208802. This form must accompany your programme application form.
