| Aims | The Cisco Certified Network Associate Programme (CCNA Exploration) is the first step in a Cisco career certification path. Learners will learn how to install and configure Cisco switches and routers in multiprotocol networks using local and wide-area networks (LANs and WANs), provide Level 1 networking services and improve network performance and security. Additionally, instruction and training is provided in the proper use and maintenance of networking software, tools and equipment.
CCNA 2 – Routing Protocols and Concepts
Learners who successfully complete this portion of the programme are eligible to earn Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA™) certification. On Completion of CCNA 4, the learner has the requisite knowledge to sit the Prometric or VUE test (#640-802) which awards the CCNA qualification, validated by Cisco Systems Inc. |
| Schedule | The CCNA curriculum will be delivered in a combination of lectures, practicals and on-line sessions over LIT's network. The subject matter will also be available to participants remotely over the internet. All CNAP activities such as tutorials, practicals and tests will take place in LIT.
The CCNA Programme (Modules 1-4) will take 7 months to complete, each module lasting approximately 6 weeks. The programme will begin in October 2010. Attendance is required in LIT on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 10pm. |
| Fees | €650 per module or €2,000 for all 4 modules.
|
| Entry Requirements |
There are no formal entry requirements. A basic knowledge of Computer Networking is a distinct advantage. |
| Registration | Applicants are advised to enrol for this programme as early as possible as a high demand for places is anticipated. Classes will commence in the first week of October 2010. Postal Registrations must be submitted by 17th September 2010. |
