This programme is aimed at giving the beginner a solid grounding in 2D drawing. Although the programme is architecturally based, the drawing knowledge gained will be beneficial in engineering and other fields where AutoCAD is the medium used.

Applicants are expected to have a basic knowledge of computers.

The programme covers the following aspects of Drawing 2D Plans and Elevations:

Creating folders, filing and retrieving drawing files.
Setting up new drawings, Page set-up, View ports, Paper space / Model space.
Creating and modifying Layers, Multi-line Text and Dimensions.
Writing and inserting Blocks and Object Grouping.
Using Command Tools, Editing, Hatching, Help.
Drawings and Modifying Lines, Poly-lines, Circles, Rectangles and Arcs.
Project layout and printing Paper Size and Scale.
Basic aspects of 3D modelling may also be demonstrated should time allow.
