More than 100 international players made up of at least 31 nationalities took part in the historic game which set the Guinness World record for the Most Nationalities Participating in a Game of Hurling.

Limerick’s Multi Culinary Award Winner Bangaly Doumbouya has added the gold medal from the prestigious Chef Ireland Competition to his growing list of accolades, all the while continuing as a second year Culinary Arts student at LIT.

Game enthusiasts attended the day long event that showcased the best of the third level game development community, who competed to win the two over all prizes and 20 category prizes.

As well as winning the Best Library Team Award, LIT Library were also shortlisted in two other categories at the Education Awards 2019, the Best International Research Project Collaboration Award as well as the Best International Collaboration Award.

Researchers at LIT (Limerick Institute of Technology) have found that the European Union Anti-Smoking Campaign is “structurally racist”.

This pioneering programme entitled FOLM (From Outdoors to Labour Market) is aimed at young people, aged between 18 and 29 years old, who are not in employment or education, and will be rolled out in the Mid West Region of Ireland in the coming weeks.
