First Year Art & Design gives you the chance to experience different art forms by learning basic creative and technical skills while finding your strengths and suitability for further specialised study. Towards the end of the year, you will begin to specialise in the honours discipline of your choice. After Year 1 successful learners will progress to Year 2 in the discipline of their choice, subject to availability of places.
Some honours programmes are highly popular and demand often
exceeds the supply of places; so, entry into an honours discipline in Year 2
is by competition and selection.
Applicants will be accepted to Year 1 of the programme based on at least 240/600 (40%) from Portfolio Assessment (See link below for more information on portfolio requirements), plus Leaving Certificate or FETAC Level 5 results.

“Limerick School of Art and Design has this aura about it, a driven, motivated atmosphere unlike any other college. It’s a close knit community of extremely hard working, competitive and energetic people that know how to have fun and take pride in what they do.”
