Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Quantity Surveying (Level 8)

 

Programme Description

The programme is continuously reviewed with industry leaders to make it the best QS programme on offer which produces graduates that are proactive to the needs of the industry. Quantity Surveyors are in a unique position to advise on the Administration, Costing and Management of construction projects. Projects would include new work, refurbishment work and the on-going management and maintenance of existing facilities. This course is available under the Work-based Learning Model.

Modules

Year 1

Construction Technology, Building Systems, Surveying Mathematics, Research and Learning Skills Development, Economics, Law, Land Surveying, Measurement.

 

Year 2

Construction Technology, Building Services, Measurement, Project Administration, Building Contract Law, Cost Planning, Estimating, Integrated Project.

 

Year 3 – Work Placement Year

Capstone Project, Professional Competencies, Diary Report, Research Methodology, Management, Dissertation Proposal.

 

Year 4

Civil & Construction Technology, Project Management, Design & Cost
Appraisal, Construction Law, Dissertation, Electives, Measurement.

Duration

4 Years including work placement in year 3. Also available part-time over a longer period (ACCS)
