Yes, the core fundamentals of accounting are delivered in Year 1.
Is there a European language requirement for the Certificate in Business?
No. However, learners who wish to take French or German as a first year elective should have taken these subjects at Leaving Certificate level.
How are marks generally allocated in the first year exams?
Final Examination at end of year: 70%
Continuous Assessment: 30%
How much time is spent in work placement in Ireland or abroad?
There is no direct work placement period in these programmes; however learners are encouraged to work in their selected specialised area during their summer holidays.
