Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Multimedia Programming & Design (Level 8)

 

Programme Description
Multimedia is a discipline that offers rewarding and challenging possibilities for a wide range of people regardless of their interests. This programme requires and develops capabilities in solving deep, multidimensional problems through practical appreciation of concepts, production methods and technical skills. This programme aims to give you the knowledge and skills in the design and programming of computer-based interactive products that incorporate text, graphics, sound, digital illustration, animation and video. It also develops different types of talent, both creative and technical, through project work and work placement in all disciplines in multimedia industry.

 

Modules
Year 1

Programming Fundamentals, Interactive Design 1, Multimedia Technology 1, Database Management Systems, Problem Solving Techniques for Programmers, Web Development, Interpersonal Communications.

 

Year 2

Object Oriented Programming 1, Interactive Design 2, Multimedia Technology 2, Database Systems, Digital Video and Audio, Web Development and Multimedia Authoring, Software Development 1.

 

Year 3

Object Oriented Programming 2, Interactive Design 3, Multimedia Technology 3, Computer Graphics and Imaging 1, Software Development 2, Six-Month Work Placement.

 

Year 4

Enterprise Programming, Project Management and the Multimedia Industry, Interactive Multimedia Project. Plus two elective subjects from the following: Systems Architecture and Software Development, Multimedia Technology 4, Computer Graphics and Imaging 2, Human Cognition and Communication, E-Learning.

4 Years. Also available part-time over a longer period (ACCS)
