Master of Science in Computing (Level 9) Taught Masters

 

Programme Description

The Taught (full-time or part-time) MSc in Computing consists of three separate streams. You will follow the stream of your choice to build on your primary Degree and develop specialised, high-demand skills and knowledge that are required for senior ICT roles. Examinations for this programme take place in May, with a final in-depth thesis submission in September. Normally, the minimum entry requirement is an Honours Degree (Level 8) or approved equivalent professional qualification at 2nd Class Honours, grade 2 or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development or cognate subject. Certain Modules may have specific prerequisites skills which you may have obtained either as part of an undergraduate programme, or through industry experience.

Stream A – Enterprise Applications Development
Software Development and Methodologies, Component Technologies, Database Systems - Programming and Administration, Enterprise Technology Management and Research Project.

 

Stream B – Enterprise Technology

Enterprise Resource Planning, Data Communications and Network Technologies, Database Systems - Programming and Administration, Enterprise Technology Management and Research Project.

 

Stream C – Security and Digital Forensics
Security and Cryptography, Data Communications and Network Technologies, Digital Forensics and Computer Crime, Enterprise Technology Management and Research Project.

 

Duration

1 year full-time. 2 years part-time (classes/attendance 1 day per week)
