The School of Business & Humanities

is dedicated to the provision of courses that will furnish the learner with the relevant knowledge, skills and competences to deal with the challenges that they will encounter in the workplace of their chosen discipline.

 

All programmes in the School of Business & Humanities provide a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills development facilitated through active learning approaches. This is achieved through the combination of formal lectures, tutorials, group projects, presentations, case studies, educational visits and the use of highly regarded speakers from the professions and industry.


 

The Department of Business

offers programmes leading to qualifications in Accounting & Finance and Marketing & Management at Higher Certificate, Degree and Honours Degree levels. We also offer a four-year Honours Degree in Law & Taxation to meet a demand for integrated tax consultancy and legal expertise in the business world. All of these programmes provide you with the foundation to pursue further study at a professional level, including examination exemptions with a number of professional bodies.

The vision of the Department of Humanities

is to provide high quality, relevant education in the hospitality, tourism, event management, performing arts and social care disciplines that is responsive to the demands of the region and the particular needs of key stakeholder groups.

 

The objectives of the Department of Humanities are to educate and train learners within a range of third level courses designed to help prepare such learners in areas of specialist skills; relevant work experience and a broad understanding of the national and international issues pertaining to their chosen field.
