Facilities

Millennium Theatre

The LIT Millennium Theatre with its avant-garde glass and steel structure is the perfect example of the quality of facilities students can expect on campus. The 350 seat theatre presents concerts, recitals, drama, comedy, dance and live entertainment.

Library

The LIT Library is bi-locational. The Technical Library and Headquarters are located at the main Moylish Park Campus and the Art Library is located at the Clare Street Campus.

All LIT patrons have full access to both library sites. LIT library serves the learning, teaching and research needs of the Institute. Our Library collection has been developed to reflect all disciplines taught at the Institute. Our collection policy is to provide high quality, timely and relevant information resources to our patrons. Visit the Library web site

Video Conferencing

Video Conferencing facilities are available on campus. Videoconferencing uses telecommunications of audio and video to bring people at different sites together for a meeting. This can be as simple as a conversation between two people in private offices (point-to-point) or involve several sites (multi-point) with more than one person in large rooms at different sites. HEAnet provide a video conferencing service that is available to all HEAnet clients. View HEAnet’s Video Conferencing Tutorial.

Accommodation

The Accommodation Office opens on a part-time basis throughout the academic year, except for 6 weeks beginning in August, when the office is open on a full-time basis. The service is provided on a referral basis, where you receive a screened list of housing from which the required housing is selected at your discretion. The Accommodation Office has no further dealings with you, unless there are problems with a particular landlord. Find more information in the Accommodation Office section.

LIT Alumni Association

The Alumni Association was set up for all past graduates, and those of its former names, Regional Technical College Limerick (RTC Limerick), the College of Art, Commerce & Technology (CoACT), Limerick Technical College, etc. Past graduates are automatically members of the Alumni Association. Past graduates are sent details about the exciting changes taking place in LIT. These included the refurbishment of the School of Art & Design in Clare Street, the addition of the state-of-the-art 350 seat Millennium Theatre – the first purpose-built theatre in Limerick in 75 years, in addition a newly opened 550 seat Aula Maxima.
