Institute of Designers Ireland (IDI) National Design Awards Ceremony Animation
The fourth year Visual Communications students from LSAD have just completed an animation project for the Institute of Designers Ireland (IDI) national Design Awards ceremony. The Awards are an occasion to celebrate the excellent standard of design achieved by designers on the island of Ireland for 2010/2011. This event awards design in various categories from fashion to product to furniture to interiors.

The LSAD brief from the IDI was to create ten (12 sec) animations that would be used to introduce each of the award categories on the night. The ten student animations have been selected and student Paul Rice’s animation has been posted on Facebook as an awards teaser: http://www.facebook.com/idiireland
These awards are attended by national and international designers representing external affiliations such as the International Federation of Interior Designers, the Bureau of European Designers Associations, the International Council of Graphic Design Associations, the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design and the European Council of Interior Architects. Award winning designers will also be profiled post-event in both the IDI Members directory and the 2010/2011 IDI “Best of Irish Design” book to be made available to all members, the general public and commercial enterprise.
The IDI Design Awards 2011 will take place on Thursday 27 October at the Sugar Club, Dublin. |
